Challenge
Electrolux recently piloted Levande, an appliance subscription service in Singapore that offers new and refurbished appliances to help people live more sustainably. Levande offers appliance leasing, refurbishing, and recycling, in a new subscription model. Electrolux needed to create a marketplace of trusted partners to build a great customer experience and strengthen its relationship with customers.
Solution
Since speed to market was important, Electrolux chose Stripe for its flexible, scalable, and quick-to-deploy payments platform. Stripe Billing enables the core subscription-billing component of Levande, while Stripe Radar helps combat fraud with configurable rules to flag, block, or dynamically apply 3D Secure to specific transactions. With Stripe, Levande was also able to accept additional local payment methods like PayNow for one-time transactions on the platform, all easily enabled within Stripe.
Results
Stripe allowed Electrolux to bring the innovative Levande subscription service to market in less than 45 days. Partnering with Stripe—and experiencing responsive, proactive support during the journey—gave Electrolux the confidence to continue expanding Levande with new capabilities and to new markets, reshaping how consumers own appliances.
By getting our subscription model right, and tackling fraud effectively, we are able to create a seamless experience for our customers and therefore build trust and effective ongoing relationships. We are excited to work with Stripe to bring this service to market and make it easy for Singaporeans to have more choice and flexibility with their home appliances.
